Oceania T:V LT Super 5s Competition Rules

Ladder Concept

The Ladder is based on a best 2 out of 3 maps scenario per match with weekly matches scheduled in the season draw.

Map selection and team sides are set in the season fixture prior to the season starting.

All teams play each other twice before a finals series is played to determine the seasons Oceania T:V LT Super 5s winner.

The finals will be a top 4 final series. See Finals Overview below.

Match Play Rules

Team Damage ON

Map Time Limit set to 20 minutes

Tournament mode used

NO cap limits

Antics anti-cheat running

All players required to demo

Scoring

The team with the highest amount of flag captures at the end of the map will win that map.

Two ladder points will be awarded per map win towards the teams’ ladder ranking.

For and against caps will be tallied. If two teams have equal ladder points then the team with the higher F/A percentage will be ranked above the other team.

Overtime

In the event that a map ends in a tie, there will be 10 minutes overtime played to resolve the winner. This should be played prior to playing any other map and the first team to capture their opponent's flag wins. If at the end of the first overtime period there have been no captures, a second should be played. The described process should be followed until a winner for that map is decided.

Season Fixture

Weekly matches will be scheduled prior to the season start. Each team will be scheduled to play each other twice. The number of registered teams will determine the season’s length. Each teams captains will be required to agree on the seasons draw prior to season start.

Three Maps will be scheduled to play but the third will not be played if a team wins the first two maps

No team will play the same map/same side two weeks in a row

If there is an uneven amount of teams in the competition, a team will be scheduled a bye each week.

Teams should seriously endeavour to play their matches during the week scheduled however flexibility will be shown under extraneous circumstances such as University and school exam periods should a team struggle to get the required numbers. Teams may play 2 games in a week to make up being behind schedule or play 2 games ahead of schedule but they MUST play in the fixture order. Teams that get more than 3 weeks behind their season fixture may be removed from the ladder.

As only 5 players per team are required for a match this is considered a reasonable condition of joining the competition.

Final 4 overview

The 1st and 2nd placed teams will play off with the winner advancing directly to the Grand Final.

The 3rd and 4th placed teams will play off with the loser eliminated and the winner advancing to play the loser of the 1st v 2nd match.

The winner of the above game will then advance to the Grand Final.

The winner of the Grand Final match will be declared the seasons Oceania T:V LT Super 5s team.

Match Date Acceptance

Team captains will organise who will book the match server and arrange an agreeable time for the match to take place. If there is a problem with booking a server than teams are to inform a ladder admin who will assist finding an adequate server.

It is each teams responsibility to know or delegate an admin/s who know the LT game console commands for map switching.

Player Eligibility

Tribes Vengeance LT Super 5s competition is played with both teams having 5 players. If the teams both agree to play with more they can as long as the server can support the agreed upon number. Matches may be played with fewer players as long as both teams agree to those terms before match start. It is each teams responsibility before the match starts to see that all players are legally registered on each teams roster. After match start or completion, roster disputes are not valid justification for forfeiture or admin intervention.

Both teams must have at least 3 ladder eligible players on the server 15 minutes after the scheduled start time. Both teams should be ready to play no later than 30 minutes from the scheduled match time unless agreed upon by both teams. Failure to agree to start the match at this time will result in either forfeiture by the non-compliant team or the team with the higher number may choose to start the game immediately. If both teams agree to postpone due to roster issues please contact a ladder admin immediately to inform them of the situation and the new scheduled time.

Substitute Eligibility

Clans that field two teams, ONLY when caught short for numbers, as long as MINIMUM three players on the teams roster are on the server prior to match start, than two substitute players from their other team are allowable. The opposing side has no say regarding these substitute players. No other substitute players from other ladder teams are allowed unless agreed on by the opposition side.

Clans that field one team, ONLY when caught short for numbers, as long as MINIMUM three players on the teams roster are on the server prior to match start, than two substitute players from any other team is allowable BUT the opposing team must agree on said substitute player/s prior to match start.

IF the opposing side believes that the Clan fielding two teams are using players from their other team when their teams’ rostered player/s are available to gain an advantage than they must raise a protest with the ladder admins with sufficient proof. If Clans are proven to do this than the penalty will be that both their teams will lose 10 ladder points each.

Match Results, Reporting and Disputes

Match results are to be reported by the losing team within 1 hour of match end to a ladder admin. It is both team captains responsibility to record the result of each match played.

If match results are being protested, a ladder admin and the opposing team captains and ladder admins must be made aware of the protest within one hour from completion of the match. Failure to do so may result in a ladder admin reporting the match.

After a protest has been initiated, both teams have 24 hours to gather evidence. In this time the team being protested against may issue a counter-protest.

ALL match issues should be resolved within 48 hours from match completion.

Once a match has started, it is understood that both teams agree to the terms of the match (number of players, rosters, substitutes, etc). If there is a disagreement of match terms AFTER match completion, the disagreement will be thrown out.

Dispute handling

Each participating team will nominate one ladder admin for the duration of the season. Disputes are to be handled via each teams ladder admin with a 3rd ladder admin as intermediary who will make a final decision.

In the event one team believes the other team has used a cheat the match should be completed and the ladder admins should be notified immediately so that a decision can be made. Failure to contact ladder admins within the hour of match end will waive any right to protest. If the protesting team is the losing team, they should not register the loss until a ruling is made. By registering a loss the losing team waives all rights to protest. When it is known that a team is going to protest, both teams should submit evidence to support their side. Submitting demos and other information will help the admins involved in ruling on the matter. Not providing information could limit the scope of the evaluation and hurt, rather than help, a team so both should participate. If it is shown that the bug is of such a degree to constitute a cheat, the rules will be updated and disciplinary actions could be taken against the team in question.

All bugs and tactics are not considered cheats. The Oceania T:V LT Super 5s admins acknowledges some unintended effects of bugs are an acceptable part of the game, and will take this into consideration when determining if a bug is so extreme that it warrants disciplinary action against the alleged team.

If there are any questions regarding a bug or tactic that could be considered a cheat contact the ladder admins for a pre-match ruling. A short demo demonstrating the bug/tactic should be submitted.

Competition staff expects all matches to be played with sportsmanship. Excessive "trash talking" and derogatory statements are not permitted. Evidence of such action will result in administrative action and potentially forfeiture or loss of ladder points of the offending team.

Suspension

Teams can be suspended for rule violations, including evidence of cheating, bad sportsmanship or other similar rule violations. Teams who are suspended have all scheduled matches automatically forfeited.

Demos

Demos are the best aid for ladder admins to settle disputes. All players are required to demo their matches. Disputes, particularly those in regards to cheating, require a demo from the accusers standpoint before staff will take action against a player or team. Demos are also your best defence to prove you are innocent of any accusations.

We acknowledge that demos in T:V are not as efficient as they could be, and that they do occasionally have errors and can cause you to take a performance hit. We recommend you protect yourself by demoing all matches.

Server Crashes

In the event of a server crash, if both teams can agree upon the remaining time and score, the map will be restarted with the remaining time and score intact. If there is a dispute the entire map will be restarted.

In the event that a team loses a player due to connectivity issues, the team may substitute the player immediately with someone from their roster. Substitute players, brought in during match, that are not eligible players, will force an immediate forfeiture on the part of the team they were playing for.

Punctuality

In between maps, a maximum preparation time of 10 minutes is allowed before starting the next map. Your opponents may start the map if your team exceeds these time limits.

Rescheduling

Should a match require rescheduling, the new match time should be within 3 days of the original match time. Mutual consent between opponents is required.

Resting

No team is eligible for a rest during the season. Teams either play or suffer a forfeit. A break can only occur in the season if ALL team agree to a period of “rest” time.

Forfeiture

Forfeiture by any team will result in 4 ladder points awarded to the opposition side and a 10-0 result for 2 maps to go towards the teams For/Against percentage ratio.

Smurf Policy

Smurfing is the act of playing for a team you are not registered to play for under a false identity. Playing for a team you are not registered to play for is prohibited.

Penalty for the violation of this is as follows but not limited to:

-          The team that the smurf joined or played for most recently will be deleted.

-          The smurfs original team will lose all ladder points.

Legal Player Names

All members registered to play on the Oceania T:V LT Super 5s ladder must play under the same name in the game. Slight abbreviations and variations in the name (such as dashes or stars) are permitted.

Match Observers

All matches are subject to observation from a ladder admin. Ladder admins must present a legitimate reason for observing a match to both team captains. If the reason is unacceptable to both the teams’ captains than a protest can be lodged to the ladder admin group.

Connection of Telnet or Web Devices

Game and Server Admins are not to remain connected to any telnet devices on the game server such as web based admin programs while the match is being played to observe details in match play.

Cheating/Hacking

The Oceania T:V LT Super 5s competition practices a zero tolerance policy in regards to cheating and hacking. Evidence of cheating, whether on a public server or in a match, will result in player removal from the Oceania T:V LT Super 5s Ladder. Teams who employ cheaters face suspension from the ladder until the cheater is removed from their roster. Failure to comply can result in the team being removed from the ladder. If Antics detects a player during a match as a cheater said player is to be dropped from server. At this point the cheaters team will forfeit the match.

The following are NOT permitted in Tribes: Vengeance LT game play while participating in a ladder match:

- Anyone sitting in spectator mode during a match without the express consent of both teams or trying to join a shorthanded team will be considered observing and subject to team forfeiture of the match.

- Running a server-side mod other than Antics and rapher mod

- Using T2 FlagHUD

- Removing the other teams players by means of kicking or vote kicking during play.

- Changing the map during play.

- The use of any client-side modification that enhances your aim (including aimbots but not including custom crosshairs).

- Exploiting map bugs, including but not limited to going under the map and moving through or shooting from places where flaws in the textures allow you to see through walls etc. Furthermore, "exploiting of clipping errors" such as shooting through solid objects, hiding in rendering errors, going under the map are all examples of exploits that could lead to forfeiture. It's not illegal to hide with the flag, unless you're hiding in a glitch. As exploits are constantly being discovered the Admins reserve the right to punish teams for utilizing undocumented exploits in matches.

- The use of wall hacks or other cheats that remove the textures from the game.

Violation of ANY of these will result in an automatic forfeit and potentially expulsion from the Oceania T:V LT Super 5s Ladder. Suspicion of the use of these cheats or hacks will be left to the ladder admins discretion.

You are responsible for the computer system that you play from. If you allow others to use your computer(s) or you borrow/rent systems to play from, you need to ensure that they are cheat free prior to playing.

Ladder Admins reserve the right to punish said cheaters based solely on our discretion.

Cheating/hacking Disputes Procedure

- Submit request for investigation. Supply demo evidence with timestamp of when suspicious activity takes place.

- Accused player tagged for investigation. Team captains are notified.

- Accused player is required to submit demos of subsequent matches/scrims.

- As step 3 is unlikely to provide accurate results (cheats may simply be turned off during investigation), accused are required to be prepared to submit random demos for any match they play in for the following month/rest of the present tournament.

- Failure to submit demos results in suspension.

- Teams with player detected by Antics will be suspended for one week if teams fail to remove cheater from roster within 2 days of being detected by anti-cheat measure. If multiple players on same team are detected team will suffer an immediate expulsion from ladder.

- Circumvention: Allowing a known cheater or competition banned player to play in a match and/or map is ground for team suspension.

- If enough circumstantial evidence (other teams/players perspectives) exists to convince staff of wrongdoing, staff reserves the right to take action against said player/team.

- Teams who have been suspended per guilty verdicts will be flagged. Further indiscretions by said team may result in ladder expulsion
