2009 Season The Detroit Pistons are the 2009 NFBA Champions, securing their fifth title with a 4-2 series win over their old foes Portland. It marked the final step for the Pistons rebuild, after blowing up their successful side that had won four titles in five seasons.   2008/09 Season The Portland Trailblazers are the 2008/09 NFBA Champions, completing their second NFBA repeat with a stunning 4-3 series win after trailing Washington 1-3. It was only the second NFBA Finals series that went the distance, and in ironical twist it was the Blazers who let go a 3-1 lead in 2005. Kudos to Washington who snapped a nine season run by Indiana and Detroit representing the East in the Finals.   2008 Season The Portland Trailblazers are the 2008 NFBA Champions, overcoming Indiana 4-1 to snap their run of four Finals losses in a row and the East's stranglehold on the NFBA crown which now ends at seven. In one of the closest seasons to date it still came to the old class to decide the title.   2007/08 Season The Indiana Pacers are the 2007/08 NFBA Champions, with a carbon copy 4-2 series win over Portland continuing both the run of Eastern Conference dominance and Portland's inability to win another NFBA Finals series. It also marked the seventh straight season that the title has been won by either Indiana or Detroit.   2007 Season The Indiana Pacers are the 2007 NFBA Champions, consigning Portland to their third straight Finals loss and marking the East's sixth consecutive victory with a 4-2 series win. The Pacers topped the East during the regular season but had a classic fight with Cleveland 4-3 to make it to the Finals.   2006/07 Season The Detroit Pistons are the 2006/07 NFBA Champions, sweeping their old foe Portland 4-0 in the Finals series. In fact while the Pistons had to fight for top seed this season in the East, it marked the first time a team had swept all three of their playoff series en route to the NFBA title.   2006 Season The Detroit Pistons are the 2006 NFBA Champions, defeating long time nemesis Portland 4-1 in the Finals series. Both teams lost banged up starters to injury during the series but it was the Pistons who were able to cover the losses and make it three titles in four seasons.   2005/06 Season The Indiana Pacers are the 2005/06 NFBA Champions, defeating Seattle 4-1 in the Finals series. The Pacers knocked out the two time Champion Pistons in the Eastern finals in the final 14 seconds of game seven of their series, before cruising to a much easier and deserved win over the Sonics in the Finals.   2005 Season The Detroit Pistons are the 2005 NFBA Champions, defeating Portland 4-3 in the Finals series. The Pistons engineered a sensational come back after trailing 1-3 in the series, forcing the Finals to a game seven for the first time in league history before securing the title with a 100-88 win.   2004/05 Season The Detroit Pistons are the 2004/05 NFBA Champions, comfortably defeating Denver 4-1 in the Finals series and putting the exclamation mark on the most dominant season in league history: a 53-3 regular season followed up with a 12-1 playoff record.   2004 Season The Portland Trailblazers are the 2004 NFBA Champions, overcoming Indiana 4-1 in the Finals series. The Blazers achieved the repeat without too many problems as the rest of the league were left to ponder ways in which to overcome the Blazers machine.   2003/04 Season The Portland Trailblazers are the 2003/04 NFBA Champions, beating New Orleans 4-1 in the first ever Finals series.
