Competitions....

The CFS has a long tradition of self styled competitions. Since 1940 the CFS (formerly EFS) has held their own forum for brigades across the whole state of South Australia to come together and practice, demonstrate and test their fire-fighting skills against one another.

Since our first entry into the competitions in 1952, the Eden Hills CFS Brigade has been a formidable force in numerous events staged, winning regularly and becoming Regional and State Champions many times. Our brigade is very proud of this history and gladly displays every pennant and trophy we have won.

We are perhaps most proud of the prestegious award of 'Best and Most Efficient Brigade' and the highly competitive 'A Grade Dry Hose Drill' and 'Pump Drill' event wins but each competitor we have had has enjoyed competitions and come away with greater skills.

While all of our CFS competition events evolved from early fire-fighting practices using equipment that has, in many ways, been modernised and updated - the principles and practices are still very much relevant to today's fire-fighting and they reinforce and refine our 'bread and butter' skills and techniques.

All competition events are open to both male and female competitors and many teams are of mixed genders.
