Incidents (Emergencies / Fires / Rescues / Etc.)....

We are 'on-call' 24 hours a day service, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The Sturt CFS Group attends an approximate average of 300 emergency calls a year and our Eden Hills CFS Brigade attends approximately 200 of these.

The number of members attending each call varies with the time of day due to the availability of members and their work commitments but we average about 8 fire-fighters per call.

Structure fires:

Blackwood Cold Stores in 2003 (damage $2,000,000)
Shepherds Court Shopping Complex in 2000 (damage of $1,000,000 but far more saved)
Blackwood Primary School in 1993 (damage $750,000)
'Caddy's Tavern' at Belair Golf Course in 1992 (damage $1,500,000)
Blackwood High School in 1972 (damage $60,000)
Blackwood High School in 1971 (damage $100,000)
