Public Relations....

Part of our Public Education and Fire Prevention roles are covered by Public Relations. We are involved in many opportunities to inform, educate and help the public each year. We are most happy to talk to groups and clubs about our brigade, members and equipment. After all, this is YOUR community service.

Local schools, kindergartens and groups such as Scouts and Guides either invite us to visit them or choose to come to our Fire Station to learn about what we do. We like to teach even our youngest visitors fire safety. We have been lucky enough to have Smokey the Koala helps us teach children some very important fire safety lessons!

Our brigade attends and performs demonstrations at some local fairs, fetes and shows throughout the year. During the Fire Danger Season (usually December to April) we have obligations dependent on conditions and throughout the year it must be understood that our emergency services are top priority and can therefore alter plans at the last minute, but we are more than happy to do what we can to help inform and educate the public about fires and the Eden Hills Country Fire Service.
