Rescue.....
Our role
in motor vehicle accidents is often only to clean petrol and oil from
the roadway, provide fire protection and ensure safety for the public,
however, we are also often required to rescue entrapped people from the
vehicles, using Hydraulic Rescue Equipment.
'Blackwood
Rescue' (our neighbouring brigade's appliance) and our own brigade often
work in tandem and combined teams to perform our rescues. We also work
together with SA Police and Ambulance services. Our members do much additional
specialised training in order to be skilled in using rescue equipment
and administering first-aid.

Pump - Holmatro TPU15

Petrol driven Hydraulic Pump
We
use the Hydraulic Rescue pump to run two 10m hydraulic lines for direct
connection to our rescue tools.
It is a compact, light-weight unit which is easily carried to accident
scenes. This is a particularly quiet pump and very fuel efficent.
The
pump can run 2 lines although not simultaneously.
