Our
People.....

Our members are people
(both men and women) aged between 16 and 65 years of age from all walks
of life including trades-people, students, engineers, school principles,
office workers and full-time mothers! We are a varied and diverse bunch
of people who live in the locality and all have one thing in common -
the desire to help people faced with emergencies.
We are a group of
volunteers, some of us active fire-fighters, others in non-active support
roles, but all play a vital role in the functioning of a community emergency
service. Our fire-fighters respond to emergencies such as fires (including
bush, grass, structures), rescue incidents (including vehicles and animals),
dangerous substance spillages, storm and flood control and many other
varied incidents.
Not every task we
do involves emergency responses to incidents or major disasters and the
'behind the scenes' work is very important to us performing the best service
we can. There is no charge to people for our services in emergencies and
we are a totally voluntary brigade - none of our members receive remuneration
for our work for the brigade, we do it because we care.
