Old Belair Road
We
use low-intensity fires to take away the low level fuels and thus either
prevent or lessen the damage caused by uncontrolled wildfires in high
risk areas. Controlled
burn-offs allow some species of native vegetation to regenerate and reproduce
while also protecting people, property and wildlife from disastrous large
fires.

We conduct a yearly burn along the Old Belair Road, Belair, to reduce the danger to cars travelling along the road in case of a fire, as it is a major escape route from the hills.
