Flooding.....

Langhorne Creek / Two Wells 1992 and 1993

Flooding incidents in our local area is usually restricted to individual properties and caused by unusually heavy downpours of rain and flashflooding or incidents such as burst water-mains pipes. Major flooding incidents lasting several days usually occur in other areas in South Australia and we are called in to assist there - sand-bagging, rescuing, salvaging and protecting homes and property. Flooding incidents can cause many, many millions of dollars in damage and require large numbers of resources in a race against time and rising water levels.

This sign says "Welcome to Langhorne Creek. A Prestigious Winegrowing Area of Approximately 400 hectares."
These floods caused much damage to the vineyards not only because of the water but also the mildew diseases
that affect grapes after such conditions.
