Quick View for Corvine Projects

The quicklinks drop down box is immediately beneath the buttons on the main menu. This feature has been a relatively late addition for Corvine Projects. What was happening was that I kept on asking myself what the last couple of entries were for a given project. So I took the bull by the horns and threw in this feature. Simply click on the down arrow and you will see a list of the projects. Click on the project of your choice and a new tab/window will open up and you will see a sample report here.

To explain the report:

  1. Project Report by Date means that all entries are sorted into start date order descending. If you only want the last couple of entries you can hit the stop button on your browser.
  2. 2009-03-14, This is the date the report was produced YYYY-MM-DD,
  3. 16:33, the time in 24 hour format that the report was produced,
  4. Sat, the day of the week that the report was produced
  5. Australia/Melbourne, this is the time zone that the report was produced. (Free-Site-Host used UTC. I actually live in Tasmania but this doesn't seem to be important enough to get its own time zone name.
  6. for 8:Clover, each project has a number and a name. For clarity I always like a number.

Now to explain the third line:
araqiel:Araqiel of Hermon - 8:Clover - 08:30 - To - 2009-02-15 08:30 Entry# 267

  1. araqiel:Araqiel of Hermon, this is the employee who made the entry,
  2. 8:Clover, each entry can belong to many projects, each of these projects, for the particular entry, are listed,
  3. 08:30, Start Time that the entry relates to. 24H format
  4. To - 2009-02-15 08:30, this is the end date and time 24H format that the entry relates to. If an entry has been given a link then the link will be on the end date. This link can be anything you want.
  5. Entry# 267, each entry has its own unique number.

You will notice that Corvine Projects has a very dark theme. The idea is to save energy. The reports will print with black letters on a white backgrouns so don't stress out about using up all your toner/ink.

Most browsers will also save a report to disk. If the report has any photos in it be sure to choose "html with images"/"Complete Page". Clicking on a photo will bring it up full size in a new tab/window. I store most of my photos on photobucket.

How do I know that you're not going to run off with the reports and not bother signing up. Well I cannot stop you and I'm not even going to try. Most people will not do this and most of those that do will boast about it and help spread the word of Corvine Projects.

The next page deals with more complex reporting. When you query Corvine Projects the entries that you find are stored against your username and the reports that you produce are based on these found entries.
