Michal Leszkiewicz was born in Poland on the 9th of February, 1916 and died in England on the 26th of March, 1992. Despite the fact that he never returned to Poland his heart remained with his homeland right up to the time of his death.

He escaped from Poland in 1939 and started flying as a Pilot with Bomber Command until the end of the WWII.



During his escape from Poland and until he started his active duty with the Royal Air Force he kept a Diary in Polish, which has been translated to English.
