On July 29th 2001, on the 150 th anniversary of the Stranding, over 60 direct descendants of the passengers, with family and friends travelled to Edithburgh.

A new boat harbor marina, adjacent to the building housing the "Marion" anchor, was officially opened They then attended a ceremony which included the unveiling of a reproduction of the Passenger List before having the opportunity to travel out to the reef.
