Introducing the Fairplay & Mosquito Pass

fmprrco.jpg One thing every model railroad needs is a logo! This is the logo I designed a couple of years ago. The name, Fairplay & Mosquito pass dates back about 23 or 24 years and was my wife’s suggestion.

I model Colorado (ish) narrow gauge. The rails are spaced 3 feet apart whereas standard gauge rails in the USA are 4 feet 8 & a half inches apart. I model in HO scale which is a ratio of 1/87 scale and in model railroader parlance it is known as HOn3. That is HO scale. The “n” means narrow gauge and the 3 means 3 foot gauge.

The photo above shows HO scale dual gauge track. The distance between the two outermost rails is scale 4ft 8.5in. The distance from the lone rail to the inner of the two rails that are close together in 3 scale feet.

Many people ask if this is the same a N Scale. No it is not. HOn3 gauge at 3-scale feet is a couple of millimeters wider that N gauge track.

Well here we go.

Would you believe I am an IT professional and have MCP certification in SharePoint but when I started to organize my own website I wound up asking my son to get it up and running so that I could simply start writing content!

So welcome to my BLOG!

Thanks
Brett
