AMUSE: "Glimpse." |

Lance/Chris. Chris wakes up one morning and he's not, metaphorically speaking, in Kansas anymore. What is this strange world and why is his life in it so fucked up? |
Chris sucks in a breath and holds it. He’s been here, never here like this, with his hands being welcomed and encouraged wantonly, but in a place where he was always allowed to touch. He’d had years with Lance, years with all of them and it was something he understood he could have, skin, contact, touching, and affection. There was never a moment to allow intimacy, this hunger, to consider what loving Lance could mean to them, to the men they were in any lifetime.
I like this sort of alternate
universe story a lot. Chris'
attempts to understand what's happened and his attempts to solve some
of the problems his alter ego has created, especially with Lance, are a
good read. |

CALICO: "Double Or Nothing." |

Twincest;
Fred/George/Lance. CROSSOVER with Harry Potter. The twins prepare to do their usual switcheroo doubleact when the incredible happens and they meet Lance Bass but, to their surprise, he wants a threesome with both of them instead. |
George breathed soft and light and fast as their lips brushed, hands barely skimming Fred's back, then closed in when Fred nuzzled at his mouth, closed in with gripping hands and sliding thighs and his testing, delicate tongue.
It was dark and warm behind Fred's eyes, and George's back moved beneath his hands like this were natural. "This is okay," Fred whispered, only just a question, feeling like a fool because he shouldn't need to ask because George was standing here, was kissing him, was his twin and they were supposed to share a language--
But frankly, Fred interrupted himself, their language felt foreign right now, and kissing could mean nothing since they'd managed to actually fuck each other and still not answer that fundamental question.
This
is a great story, if you have no trouble handling twincest as a
concept. And Calico is famous for her HOT sex scenes. |

Lance/AJ;
Lance/Joey. Joey hasn't seen or heard from Lance in four weeks - the longest period in their friendship without any contact at all - and he's panicking. So desperate is he that he asks AJ, Lance's old boyfriend and a man Joey can't stand, to go to London to bring him back to New York. |
It's giving in to go to the booth, instead of making Lance come to him, but AJ does it anyway. The vibe is already getting to him. He can feel the alcohol pulling at his blood, the scent of it all around him, the taste practically on his tongue. He needs to get out of here. Fast. But he has to at least try to get to Lance tonight. After this, Lance will start to think—about why AJ's here, why he's staying—and if he figures it out, the whole game is over.
This story has a lot of
interesting elements, including hot sex <g>. It also
includes some of my least favourite things - the use of the two most
misused words in fandom (smirk and lay), and lack of correct
punctuation out the whazoo - so the fact that I still like is is an
achievement in itself! |

JULAD: "Bitter And Smiling." |

Justin/Chris. Justin watches Chris try to deal with their paedophilic manager and get fucked over, both metaphorically and literally. |
"Don't
think about it," JC told him once, after Justin couldn't slip through
the fingers of a guy who liked
it rough. "Somebody'll tell their parents soon." And
eventually a couple
of kids would drop out and one producer would disappear, but soon
there'd be
another. By then, though,Justin already knew that the stayers, like JC
and himself, were the ones who didn't tell anybody anything, who dumbly
shook their heads with wide eyes whenever an adult asked them oblique
questions about the recently-departed. |
|
This is a dark story but it's so
beautifully written I just had to recommend it. |

Lance/Chris.
Chris wakes up on his 30th birthday and realises he's in love with Lance. Lance refuses to even consider it on the grounds that if he's bad in bed, Chris wouldn't take it well when Lance dumped him. So Chris tries to convince him he's wrong... |
On his thirtieth birthday, Chris woke up and realised that he was in love with Lance. He'd been hoping for an anticlimactic day. |
|
He should have known, he thought ruefully, deep into a bottle of gin and unable to stop thinking about Lance--Lance's eyes, Lance's ass, Lance's voice, the back of Lance's neck, Lance's incessant knucklecracking, how desperately he wanted to be shocked into wakefulness by Lance's overpowering coffee-breath every single morning... he should have known that thirty was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad age to be.
This is quite an amusing story,
with Chris desperate to persuade Lance he's wrong. Lance comes
across as a bit of an arsehole, to tell you the truth, but hey, Chris
loves him. |

Lance/Chris/Joey/JC.
One day, Justin walks in and find Joey and Chris naked together... |
You don't know when you figured out that they were all gay. All four of them. Now, of course, it seems like you always knew, but a part of your mind insists that you couldn't have believed it until you had the proof. You might have believed it about Lance, certainly, about JC, probably, about Chris, maybe, about Joey, possibly... but not *all* of them, surely? |
|
Interesting story that deals
with Justin's freak out and the results. There's a seoncd, much
longer version of this story that is superb, but quite dark and
depressing, at least for me. With this shorter version I can view
the situatioin with hope. |

KANEKO: "The Vacation." |
01/08/05 32 kb |
Lance/Joey. Lance goes on vacation and leaves a robot Lance in his place - and as the bot seamlessly takes Lance's place, Joey gradually begins to freak out. |
Chris was the one who freaked. When Lancebot did the arm thing for him, he screamed and stumbled back. "What-" he said, and his voice was shaking. "What have you done to Lance?"
"Lance is on vacation," Lancebot explained, talking slowly, like Chris was retarded. "I'm just filling in for him."
"Yes, but." Chris looked at Joey appealingly. "Joey, he pulled off his arm."
Justin put him to bed with a bottle of tequila.
I love the way Joey begins to
question his relationship with Lance, with the others, with the public,
and even his own personal sense of reality in this story. And
Lance-bot - what's not to love about a story that starts out with that as a concept? |

Joey/JC.
After some time apart, the guys get back together but JC feels out of place. He finds himself wandering around in Justin's garage amongst his many expensive cars, and that's where Joey finds him. |
JC
was supposed to be inside with everyone else, drinking beer (Joey,
Justin, and Chris), vodka (Lance) or wine (himself), laughing and
trading stories about the past eight months. He was supposed to be
rebonding with his best friends. |
|
He was not supposed to be standing in Justin's garage, staring at his cars.
This is a nice short story that
involves a first time relationship between Joey and JC. Nicely
done. |

LYNNE, MERRY: "Yet Another Room." |
01/08/05 16 kb |
Lance/Chris. Justin turns his libidinous sexual attentions towards Lance, much to the disgust of every other member of the group. |
So, Lance is gay and that's fine. But he doesn't date, he doesn't pick up guys, he doesn't do anything but work and he doesn't even break a sweat about never getting tail. Justin alternates between finding this endearing, amusing, baffling and sometimes, just plain infuriating. Everyone else gets some, Chris and Joey chasing after girls, JC and Justin going after anything they can get and Lance just sits back and waits for something. Lance doesn't even complain, only commenting on it when one of them asks him about his weird celibacy thing. Lance insists it's not some kind of policy, it's just that he doesn't have time, that he doesn't make it the end all of everything he does to get laid. "I don't have to be paired up, I don't need to fuck someone every free night I have," he says.
I love the slow way Justin
ingratiates himself with Lance, and how, along the way, he himself is
changed beyond anything he could have imagined at the start. Very
nicely done.. |

Lance/Joey.
Lance is such a perfect boyfriend that he always gets on with their parents. |
It's the parents that get him every time. |
|
Lance thinks, if he could just be rude. If he could just be the kind of guy who walks into his date's house with a chip on his shoulder. Or, better yet, honks his car horn from out in the street. If he could just be that guy, everything would be a lot easier.
But no. No way, not ever. He has to be the boy who goes inside, who shows up wearing ironed pants, who actually recognizes the old jazz record the mom is playing in the living room and can reassure the dad everyone will be home by curfew. Three feet always stay on the floor.
He's the perfect fucking date, and it kills him every time.
This is a sweet first-time story
between Joey and Lance. |

Lance/Chris. Lance and Justin’s 8 year openly gay power Hollywood relationship has ended and he arrives unannounced at Chris’ bar in Chicago. |
It's
Lance. Lance fucking Bass is standing in his bar. Lance
motherfucking
Hollywood Bass is standing in his bar wearing ripped jeans and a
leather jacket. He's got a black duffel in one hand and a hanging bag
slung
over the other shoulder. Lance Bass, standing in his bar, with two bags
and
no clue, and it's like a joke. |
|
"Hey,"
Lance says. |
|
Chris
blinks and watches Claude stack shot glasses on a shelf. Lance is
standing in his bar like it hasn't been six years, like he isn't the
guy whose name Chris has silently cursed ever since the phone rang and
Justin went back. |
|
Chris turns to Claude and says, "So a guy walks into a bar."
Very nice, slowly developing
story about the relationship between Lance
and
Chris. |

Chris/Other;
Lance/Other; Lance/Chris; Justin/JC (implied). Lance recognises that Chris has a serious problem and decides to help him out. |
There was a lot of inter-group lying. Sometimes, Lance marvelled at how much they didn't say to each other, but he also realised it was a sign of how close they were. They all knew, anyway, on some level or another, but out of respect and love, didn't speak about the unmentionables. Lance was sure, at some point, everything was going to come tumbling out. He had a feeling it was going to happen a lot sooner than anyone imagined.
This is one of my favourite
sorts of stories, the traditional hurt/comfort story where the hurt
happens off-screen and the story is all about the slow serious offering
of comfort that leads to a relationship between our guys. |

Chris/Lance. Chris andLance get drunk one night and fuck, then have to deal with the consequences.. |
"All right," Lance said later, while he looked around for his boxers and Chris sat on the bed, sipping water and popping Advil. "This is kinda weird right now. And what the hell did we do with them?" Lance looked around bleakly. "Can I borrow a pair of yours? This is pissing me off." |
|
"Dude, sharing underwear. That's kinda intimate," Chris said, rubbing his temples.
"Well, dude," Lance snapped back, already in Chris's drawers and looking for a pair that wasn't ragged and threadbare, "I sincerely hope in your world having your dick in my ass is considered intimate, too."
"Point taken," Chris replied, "feel free to wear my underwear."
This story has more humour in it
than most of the other Rhys stories I've recced on this page. I
liked the humour a lot and it got me through those times when I want to
grab both Lance and Chris and shake some sense into them <g>. |

JC/Justin;
Chris/Lance. Justin wakes up one morning after a drunken binge and finds himself in bed with a man. And he freaks. |
Justin remembered drinking last night, a lot if he recalled correctly, and the fruity type of drinks that always fucked with his mind because he couldn't taste the alcohol and didn't realise that after twelve he was wasted beyond imagine. He didn't remember much of anything else, vague memories of making fun of Lance for wearing purple vinyl pants and pulling at JC's hair for hours because it was so curly and, therefore, funny to Justin in his drunkenness. Joey challenged him to a game of pool, which they forfeited after Joey hit the white ball off the table and they couldn't find it again, and Chris had been there, annoying as usual, drunk off his goat and declaring himself the king of the world more than once. But most of it, Justin realised, was just a blur, like a photograph of motion, in his head.
This is a sequel to "All Falls
Down"(above) and deals with the JC/Justin relationship. After all
the lying they've done to each other, the shit has finally hit the fan
and it's all over Justin. This will especially appeal to those
readers who like the sappier style of slash. |

Lance/Joey.
Just when Lance was convinced his Christmas would be awful, Chris gives him the perfect gift , one that he has alway wanted. |
They exchanged gifts before the heavy drinking began. The gifts they got for each other were always interesting. It never failed—Justin always managed to come up with gifts that he wanted more than the person he was giving them to did, and it usually involved sports or jewelry. JC’s were always artsy, whatever fad that happened to be the ‘in’ thing, and it usually involved the color pink. Lance liked to think of the gifts he gave as practical, something people could really get a lot of use out of. Joey on the other hand, always came up with the perfect gift, something you had no idea he’d even figured out you wanted, but without fail when you opened it you squealed like a girl and thanked him a thousand times. And then there was Chris.
There's something about this
story that makes me remember it and keeps me coming back for more
- I think its the whole Christmas gift-giving thing which got me. |

Justin tries to talk a skittish JC into being his first sexual partner, but JC thinks he's too young. |
JC
rolled his eyes and turned back to Lance. "This is the lecture,
okay, it's a lecture, where I tell you not to take drinks from strange
guys who look at you like that. Cause, you know, what if we're not
there, and what if it's not just vodka, and." |
|
Joey nodded. "You gotta be careful with shit like that. Cause you have, like, that look, you know."
Lance drew his brows together. "What look?"
>Joey looked at JC, and JC shook his head. "I'm not touching that one. You said it."
"Me and my big mouth," Joey muttered. He turned back to Lance. "Well, you're kinda... innocent-looking. Cute."
"But not right now," JC added brightly. "Right now, you look really scary. Keep it up."
This is very sweetly done.
I especially like Protective!JC and a Justin who knows what he wants
and goes after it ruthlessly. |

Justin/Chris.
Justin blows Chris off for his yearly Christmas party and then is visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future. |
"Yeah?"
he grunted into the phone, "man,
Chris what is it? I'm tired. I'm on vacation." |
|
"Hey,"
Chris said, and there was something weird in his voice that
Justin couldn't quite put his finger on. "Dude, I was just calling to
check in on you. See how that was going. You gonna make it down here
for my little soiree or what?" |
|
Justin
paused for a minute, his mind backtracking to last week, when
they'd all been up in the city together for the wax thing. Chris's
holiday party. Right. |
|
"I
dunno," Justin said, picking at his jeans. "I'm booked solid, and
there's this party in New York City and I've got to get ready for the
Dick Clark bullshit, and then I've got to haul ass to Memphis, and
yeah. The schedule's pretty tight, man. I'm gonna try, though. Swear,
Chris. Seriously." |
|
"Right," Chris sighed, and Justin could hear him trying to control his disappointment. Which sucked. Justin never wanted to do that with Chris, not Chris, who'd always had his back. But it was true that he had a lot of stuff to do, and truth be told Chris threw some pretty pathetic parties and mostly Justin was scared to go. Scared that the increasingly awkward silences meant that he was losing his best friend. Scared that if he showed up at Chris's they'd have nothing left to say to each other.
I'm a sucker for time-travel
stories and Groundhog Day stories and stories like this one that do the
Ghost from.Christmases Past, Present and Future thing. |
