Jack gives Sam a ride home and, much to his dismay, discovers that every radio station in town seems to be determined to exaggerate the situation between he and Sam. It's the real life equivalent to going out for a first date and finding out that every single movie in the multiplex has a nice, embarrassing love scene in it. I loved the humor in this because we've all been there, even if it's something as mundane as hitting every red light when you're in a hurry. You can see and feel their growing frustration, not only with the situation, but with themselves. This is technically a song fic but it's still a fun read. There is a twist at the end that should make you laugh and 'Someone up there has a real sick sense of humor' does speak well for this. If you don't like ship, you probably will find this story unlikely and not see the humor in it but if you have the willingness to read through a few lines of lyrics, you'll find this a quick and fun read. |
