How far in advance do I need to order my cake?
Generally the rule of thumb is as early as possible to avoid disappointment. I am often booked for busy dates up to 6 months in advance. Yet sometimes I am able to make a cake with as little as 2 weeks notice. Usually 4-8 weeks is a good timeframe, but as I say, the earlier the better. I limit the number of bookings I take per week, and I do not take bookings more than 1 year in advance.
Pricing
Because all of my cakes are priced individually by the complexity of their design, I do not have a standard price list.
Due to the care I give to each cake and the one-of-a-kind nature of each order, I require a minimum of $120 on all of my cakes.
Deciding on a cake
When deciding on your cake you need to take into consideration:
• how many people you will be feeding?
• is the cake the dessert?
• is there a theme for the event?
