Original Shinwa SD303C Radio EEprom Programmer
CONVERSION OF THE MIDLAND 70-1050 DATA PROGRAMMER
TO A SHINWA SD303C PROGRAMMER
The 70-1050 Midland programmer can be converted to a SHINWA SD330C Radio Programmer
Conversion Steps.
1. Remove the 4K7 Resister from AR1 Pin 1 to 4
2. Remove Wire link from Eprom A4 Pin 2 to IC A10 GND PCB Solder point
.
STEP 1 STEP 2 PCB BOARD VARIATION
3. Place wire – Eprom A4 Pin 2 to A1 Pin 27 (D80C39HC).
4. Cut track between Pin 26 to Pin 27 of A4 (eprom)
5. Add a 100K Res between A4 Pin 1 to Pin 26 (eprom)
6. Run wire from A4 Pin 26 (eprom) to Toggle Switch.

7. Drill ¼” Hole through PCB + Case Add 2 pos DPST Sw
8. Place Wire - Pin 1 Z3 eeprom socket (5v) to switch.
9. Wire from switch to A10 Pin 26
10. Remove Midland eprom - Replace with Shinwa S/W ver 3

110VAC to 240VAC CONVERSION.
1. Place Orange wire from pin 1 (AC In) to Pin 2 (T1)
2. Place Brown Wire from Pin 2 (T1) to Pin 1 (AC In)
3. Change AC Plug to desires countr
Power Lead IN - Active to No 3 for 220V and Neutral to AC IN (F1) - Earth to frame

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
PCB Board Versions. ROM Writer 6376 Both Units
Midland 70-1050 has a ver R0 Board
Shinwa SD3003C has a ver R1 Board.
Version R1 has only a few track alteration on A10 pin 2 Area
A (L) (H) and a (C) is added to the Board to allow for HI Low Bank Switching on the eprom
The Eprom in the Midland is a 2764 and the Shinwa is a 27128.
The Shinwa eprom is divided into 2 banks. The Switch switches the banks between the SH/GII and the SC/X series radios.
