Earth of solidarity
|
|
The
gap in living standards between that of the industrialised countries
-
full of consumer products, and that of the third world countries
-
missing the basic resources, is unacceptable.
Some actions of solidarity from us can strongly improve the
daily life of these 3rd World populations. Let’s participate
positively with collections which can be organised during this
week of food, clothing, tools and appliances for them.
All these items can be shared equally with the needy, under the control of responsible humanitarian
associations already in place to do this.
In this movement of solidarity, let’s not forget our
own neighbours who are in need. A kind
attitude, a careful listening or something as simply as a smile can sometimes act like a
ray of sun.

Earth of peace and music
|
This day is celebrated in hopefully a hundred countries around the world
just like World Peace Day.
Let’s respect this Earth Festival celebration and let’s anchor
lasting peace in our hearts, using the growing energy of the
Winter solstice. May the Spring bring renewal of life and
vigour.
June 21 is also Music Day in a number of countries which every
year gets bigger.
Let’s free our musical expression in the streets of the world
and let’s join the good mood of the Music Day.

A clean Earth
|
The Earth is suffocating from diverse pollutions that we impose on
it. We will offer it a day of minimum pollution. Let's put out
the
call to use alternative means of transport which do not pollute.
We recommend a day without cars by using less polluting transport
means.
The fossil energy resources are not endless so we need to be conscious of
our energy consumption and try to reduce it. Let’s use clean,
renewable and
non-polluting energies.
Let’s reduce our packaging and sort our garbage.
In every daily action we can avoid waste.
Let’s find the balance between our material consumption and our
real needs. For the celebration of the coming week end, the
planet must be clean and beautiful. We are all invited to
participate in its cleaning through big collective operations of
solidarity with the planet.
The streets, walks, beaches, fields and forests can be visited and
cleaned everywhere in the world by schools, associations,
companies, teams and individuals.

FRIDAY JUNE

Artists for the Earth
|
Artists of their many disciplines are invited to express their creativity by
supporting actions for the 1st Earth Worldwide Festival. Theatre
and dance troupes can prepare their shows for this day and also for
the coming week end. Painting, multimedia and sculpture exhibitions
can gather works by artists based on the themes of the Festival.
Generally speaking, this day is an expression of global art
focussing on the planet Earth.
Planet Earth will be beautiful, as everybody around the
world will take part in its decoration.
Nature reserves will be enhanced in preparation for the many
visitors on the coming week end. The towns will decorate their
monuments, their pieces of public art, their bridges, giving value to
their heritage.
The villages and towns, closer to the natural environment, can easily honour it.
Everywhere garlands, banners and colourful decorations will
express a unique and universal creation.

SUNDAY JUNE 26
EARTH OF THE FUTURE
|
All of humanity is invited to connect with the Earth during a
giant picnic in designated locations in each country.
Reunions, sharing, exchange and solidarity will be expressed
during this beautiful gathering.
At the end of the picnic, circles and processions of people,
along with choirs, will start naturally sealing a new alliance
between Humanity and Earth.
COMMITMENT
OF THE FESTIVAL
It remains now to anchor in the hearts all these magical moments
of consciousness of a common humanity, respect and admiration
for our Earth which feeds every men without discrimination.
We hope that this 1st Earth Festival will encourage
everybody to modify their daily behaviour towards the planet and
their fellow inhabitants.
In memory of this Festival, it is proposed that everybody plant
an indigenous seed or tree, where they want, to symbolise a new
relationship with planet Earth.
