Environmental Monitoring in Mineral Exploration

Geosurveys Australia has endeavored to maintain a "best-practice" environmental monitoring program for its clients during all stages of mineral exploration.

A key component of the Geosurveys Australia strategy is to establish semi-permanent photo-points to monitor exploration activities and their impact on teh environment around them. Geosurveys Australia has established a simple but effective system of capturing and storing this data in a GIS database which includes time-series photographs. An example of a typical datasheet is shown below.
