I'm slightly embarassed by the number of skulls I've sculpted and painted and drawn over the years. I'd like to point out thats this is NOT a morbid obsession on my part, but rather the skull is a good subject for practice because its a great example of complex and interesting natural forms. This particular one was sculpted in oil based clay, then a mold made in silicone, and copies cast in polyester resin, which were tinted and aged with washes of oil paint.
