the things I did today
I sat in a chair made of puddles
drank a mirror, set fire to my shadow
I carried a cloud across the street
held an earthquake in the palm of my hand
I lost a leg in the supermarket
I counted twenty-two holes in the sky
I saw a dog driving a delivery van
and a horse hitchhiking in hotpants
I met a girl with cellophane hair
I drove my car through a spongecake
I watched television with a penguin
took a vacuum cleaner out to dinner
I pretended to be a telephone
until the ringing gave me a headache
I caught a bus to the beach
the sun sat opposite - poked its fingers in my eye
I found a shooting star stuck to the bottom of my shoe
