Activity 3.6 - An animated Haiku Please note that with a slow connection this animation may take a short time to load. It will play automatically when the download is completed. To view it again please visit another page, eg, 3.7, then return here. Refreshing your browser window may also work.
What I have learned: As the original jpg files were in PhotoShop I decided to use the companion ImageReady. Once I worked out how to use layers for animation it was straightforward to sequence and time it. Saving as a .gif @ 128 colours produced a file slightly above specification but it reduced to 144k. using 64 colours. The quality is quite acceptable on screen and probably could have been reduced further. Next time I would insert a blank frame to begin so it didn't start immediately, and another, perhaps black, at the end. I found ImageReady saves as .swf files so I will experiment with these. I also learned there was more to learn about browsers and animated gifs! See discussion in 3.7.
