Current Projects
Guernica: this is a remake
of the famous painting by Pablo Picasso.
However this time I’m doing it using pieces of the actual town in a kind
of collage. It will also feature Justin
Timberlake to give it street cred.
The
American Civil War in Fish: this project
involves re-enacting famous battles of the War of Northern Aggression using our
piscine pals. Currently
working on First Manassas with haddock (Federals) and skate (Confederates). This also features an open casting call for
Col Thomas J Jackson.
Sturm und Drang
One of my many magnum
opera. This mixture of opera
and confectionery tells the story of Faust as seen by a selection of
cakes. I’m currently working on a duet
between Helen of Troy and an éclair she thinks won’t go straight to her hips.

Much
of my life, too much some would say, has been taken up with scribbling words on
paper. In one strange incident I was even typing stuff on aluminium foil.
Let us not go into the vicissitudes of genius. In 1987 I bought my first
computer, a Kaypro II as recommended by Jerry Pournelle in BYTE magazine.
For software it came with Wordstar but I was able to install the PC version (in
those we referred to as the IBM version) of WordMARC from MARC Software, which
had been the word processor of choice at Collingwood TAFE since it ran on their
PRIME computer system. As I upgraded computers I upgraded software, going
through XYWrite, WordPerfect, Multimate and finally to Microsoft Word 2.0 for
Windows. Now I'm using Microsoft Word 2007 for Windows which I find harder
to use than Word 2003 but I'm sure I'll get used to it.
