How is it, or for that matter, why is it, that we say we respect all religions, to the extent that all of the world's malcontents believe it, but get so upset when people who follow them blow themselves up or ram innocent people into the sides of buildings?

Because people who do that sort of thing are arseholes.  You can tell by all the shit that comes out of them..
