ACFE Courses
The following courses are funded by the Adult, Community & Further Education (ACFE) organisation.
Holders of valid Health Care, Pensioner or Veteran Gold Card
are eligible for the concession rate.
All students are required to pay a tuition fee and a
student services and amenities fee.

The course will focus on the following:
- Understand practices of Sustainability
- Plan and organise a "Project Zero Home Map"
- Identify energy efficient and inefficient areas
- Use problem solving to implement behaviour changes
- Work and communicate effectively in teams
- Use of technology and develop skills in self management of personal goals and vision.

Basic literacy skills taught through learning about managing money for healthy eating and planning nutritious meals. Especially designed for people with disabilities.

An introduction to the basic skills to work in kitchens - food safety, food hygiene, food preparation, menu planning and presentation. Teaching pace and style is designed for adults with a disability.

There are three classes available to cater for all levels of
ability, from the beginner to the more advanced.
Individually tailored to suit your needs and interests.
Examples may include learning Microsoft programs,
email, internet, and much more.
Pathway to Certificate I and II Information Technology (TAFE).

- Unless specified otherwise, all courses and activities are held at Holden Street Neighbourhood House.

Deb would be happy to meet with you, give you a tour of the House and introduce you to other
participants.
Swap - Borrow - Share
- Books: The book swap shelf has expanded to "shelves." Please join us by donating, borrowing or swapping. (Preferably borrowing—we are running out of space.)
- Jigsaws: Like doing jigsaws? What do you do with them once they are finished? Come and swap for one from our collection or just borrow one and bring it back when you are done. Donations of whole jigsaws welcome.
- Fruit, Veg, Herbs: Your excess produce will be used by our cooking classes or shared with community members. We also have a herbs and vegies that we are happy to share.
- Drop Off household batteries, corks, light globes, mobile phones, CD’s DVD’s VHS tapes and floppy discs, prescription glasses and sunglasses. We will take them to the council depot for you.
