Hi, I'm Ian Fisk. I worked at Federal Airports Corporation, Dept of Aviation, Dept of Works as an Professional Electrical Engineer but retired in May 1998 after 26 years service.
I was born in 1945 in Montreal Canada, but lived in most of the time in Canada, in Beautiful British Columbia (Bamfield and Alberni). I worked as a Radio Operator in Canada for a while, mostly up in the Canadian Arctic.
My father was born in Sydney Australia, moved to Canada, married a Canadian girl and just to get even I migrated to Australia (1969) and married an Australian girl!
Pam and I live in Adelaide South Australia.
My hobbies are windsurfing, photography (Digital since 1998, some of my pictures are here many are on the www.saccm.com site too, contest results, artists etc), electronics, amateur radio (VK5IF), genealogy, computing, music (Piano), Country and Folk Music, table tennis, cycling and badminton not necessarily in that order. There is just so much to do and so little time!
The clubs I am in include SA Microprocessor Group, South Australia Genealogical and Historical Society, South Australian Council for Country Music and The Adelaide Country Music Club.
As of June 2002 I was forced to become interested in Prostate Cancer. I am now looking after the Prostate Cancer Action Group (SA) Inc website, and an off shoot the Prostate Suport Awareness Adelaide Group site too(plus the associated pages for the other SA Support Groups). I had Brachytherapy in October 2002. See Prostate Support Awareness Adelaide Group Website for Slide Show/Talk given in April 2003(updated May 2008). ( also check ABC Health Your Story for "My Story". In late 2006 I became an Ambassador for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
I also am looking after the South Australian Council for Country Music, Adelaide Country Music Club, Poldhu Amateur Radio Club (Wales), the Semaphore Music Festival, Warren Milera and Warrakoo Websites.
I was the Editor of the Bicycle Institute of South Australia's Pedal Update from 2002 until Mar 2007, assisted with the Prostate Support Awareness Adelaide Group Newsletter 2004 to Dec 2007 and since of Feb 2006 the Adelaide Country Music Club "Country Call". Most of the Newsletters are on those websites. I make regular contributions to the SACCM Prelude.
I am a greeny at heart. Solar Hot water service (gas assisted)
installed years ago, Solar Heating (June 2004) installed.
In the cooler months, warm air from the ceiling space is distributed through our house via the Evap Cooling ducting.
See Solectair Solar Home Heating.
