Please
use this family data as a guide, but you must CHECK IT FOR YOURSELF!
Some of this material is well substantiated, but it should
be used only as a starting point for your research, and NOT be
assumed by it.
My database is the product of incomplete research and is not up to date.
It contains
assumptions which may prove to be incorrect with more research. Names,
dates, places and relationships are not necessarily confirmed to the extent normally
considered appropriate for genealogy and family history purposes.
Please contact me
for further details if you see something of interest. I would be very pleased to
share information with you, but for your protection, and mine, I reserve the right to
explain and qualify it.

The earliest arrival of my Dalwood family in South Australia was in 1840,
when the colony's population was only about 13,000. The earliest known arrival of any part
of my family was in 1839, barely three years after the the colony's foundation.
Most of my mother's family came to South Australia from Cornwall, and much
of this has already been well researched by others. In the mid-1800s at least eleven
of my great-great-grandparents came to South Australia from England, and I believe one
came from Scotland. Seven of my great-grandparents were born in South Australia and the
other migrated to South Australia from England (London).
