Adults

Margie has conducted many workshops for adults, including those with mental and physical disabilities, community groups, Library BookClubs and older &/or isolated women. Her series of 3x2hr Favouring Simplicity has created confidence and excitement in those who have attended.

The workshops involve working with music, whiteboard exercises and creative visualisations.

Feedback Sheets

I came away inspired - the feedback to my own writing has renewed my faith in myself.

Informed, warm, friendly, informative, I loosened up and let the writing flow.

Outstanding. A pleasure.

Relaxed but enthusiastic. I was very comfortable - not all chalk and talk, plenty of participation and sharing.

Great tips on getting over writer's block.

Was looking for some spark to help me develop - and found it!

The best workshop I've attended to date!

Excellent challenging material but not done in a confronting way

Other workshops include:

New Ways of Developing Characters

Much More Than a Diary

Informing Others with your Stories

Margie develops workshops to suit specific needs.

Margie is available as writer-in-residence to classes where the children are taken through a series of workshops to develop their writing skills. Anthologies of the children's work is an option. People With Disabilities (Young Adults - Up)

In conjunction with carers, Margie conducts storyboard sessions with clients, showing aspects of their lives through cut-out pictures and simple sentences. A gentle, fun activity for no more than 1.5 hour sessions. I conduct workshops to cater for those who have basic (or more) language abilities as well. Whatever the request I am happy to negotiate ideas and structures.
