Footprints and Other Miracles
This event occurred on Wednesday 7, January 2004. I did not meditate this morning, as I had to get up very early to go to work. In the evening, as I was getting ready to go out to see friends, I noticed a large, fresh and deeply embedded footprint in the centre of my prayer blanket. The rest of the blanket remained completely smooth. At first I thought that it must be my footprint because I meditate mostly in bare feet, but when I held my foot above this footprint it was clearly much larger than mine.
As no one else was in my room for the last few days I wondered how it got there, especially being so freshly made. I then remembered hearing stories of how Bhagavan would leave footprints at peoples’ homes to show them that he was around.
Two weeks later I sent the photo to Golden City, in India, where it was confirmed to be the footprint of Bhagavan. Bhagavan’s footprint was embedded and visible on my prayer blanket for the next three days.
Around the same time, in Adelaide and abroad, many more miracles took place. The following is a brief description:
- Chinmayan found two footprints on his prayer cushion. They stayed visible until the next morning.
- A sandaled footprint appeared underneath Lisa and Pasquo’s alter. The way this footprint was positioned it was not possible for a person to have left it.
- Sayujya found a fresh cherry stone in her fruit bowl. The cherries were placed on her alter as an offering to Bhagavan and Amma.
- Ridima found a fresh peach stone in her fruit bowl. She too, had fruit on her alter as an offering to Bhagavan and Amma.
- Dita, from Whyalla in South Australia, had a footprint materialise in yellow sand on her clean and crisp dark blue lounge cover. There is only red sand in Whyalla! That same evening, Dita’s daughter Samantha, who was visiting her relatives in Mauritius, was missing her mum and dad very much. Upon going to bed, Samantha found blue stubby handprints on her white pillow. The handprints were very clear and stayed visible for the next few days. She was only thirteen at the time.
Quite a few months later (August 31, 2004) just as I had arrived in Chennai India for my 21-day retreat, I was dining with Patrick who was from Brisbane, Australia also attending the 21 days program. As we were eating and chatting, Patrick offered me a taste of his paneer cheese, which I accepted and placed on my side plate. One moment it was there, the next moment it was gone! Patrick and I could not believe it. We both looked at the plate in total amazement. Only the cream sauce was left where the cheese had been!
When we got to Golden City, I mentioned this to one of the monks. She laughed so much and finally said that Bhagavan does this all the time, he likes to play tricks on people!
