Heal the Healer Retreat at Wentworth NSW
Submitted 01 May 2006
A couple of weeks ago (21,22,23 April 2006) Julie-Ann, Jennifer and myself (Maya) ran a special weekend retreat in Wentworth for healers, carers, counselors and teachers. This amazing weekend came about because of a vision. Some time after Julie-Ann returned from her 21-day process in India she had a vision and strong inspiration to put together a retreat specifically designed to heal and nurture those who have a responsibility to help others.
Julie-Ann saw plainly that if a healer is to be of maximum benefit to others then they themself must be whole, clear and working from a place of divine love and guidance. With this as her starting point she put together a Healing the Healer program that included intensive processes similar to those she underwent in India. The processes she selected for the course provided the best opportunities for fast release and the balancing of emotional, mental and physical blocks. Conditionings, destructive thought patterns and behaviours were clearly observed and easily release. The teachings shared by Julie-Ann, Jennifer and myself helped participants to understand more fully the process of enlightenment, the concept of the self, and the nature of the mind along with all the games it plays.
The facilitators and participants all stayed at the Wentworth Central Motor Inn, located near the NSW, Vic and SA border. Wentworth is a six hour drive from Adelaide, through the picturesque Riverland. It is just 25 minutes from Mildura. The motel consists of 25 very comfortable and clean rooms and is owned by Julie-Ann and her husband Simon. The program was run at The Masons function centre (located at the Motor Inn) which used to be a Freemason's Lodge.
The Masons function centre still houses some of the original furniture, books and other Freemason's artefacts dating back to the 1920's. We felt so privileged to be able to conduct the enlightenment deeksha workshop from a place of such deep spiritual roots. What made it even more special was that one of the participants was a freemason and gladly shared with us some of its history.
Wentworth is a beautiful little town which sits at the junction of Australia's two largest rivers, the Murray and the Darling. The rivers are easily accessed and a real treat for sore city eyes. For me, the highlight of the trip was when some of us went to the Perry Sandhills (5 minutes drive from town) the next morning, at sunrise, to do a meditation and give healing deeksha to Mother Earth. According to geologists, the Perry Sandhills originated after an ice age (40,000 years ago) and are formed by wind erosion over thousands of years. Aboriginal tribes used this area to camp and hunt. Now, the area is used as a backdrop for many films, TV shows and advertisements, and for the annual Music Under the Stars as part of the Mildura Wentworth Arts Festival. At the centre of the sand dune is this most amazing tree which the locals call the God Tree because it is believed to have been around when Jesus was with us. The tree is huge and still very healthy. We felt wonderfully peaceful and even blissful just sitting under it. Actually, it was very difficult for some of us to move away.
For anyone who missed out on this trip, we are planning another retreat at Wentworth in approximately 6 months time.
The following are a few photos from the weekend.
