Banded ("Night-tiger") Brown Tree Snake

(Boiga fusca)

The Banded Brown Tree Snake is also referred to as the "Night Tiger", alluding to its barred colour pattern. This form is not yet common in captivity and only rarely bred. Whilst wild caught specimens can be aggressive, long term captives can settle down to be quite docile. My specimens feed readily on a normal captive diet of mice and chicks. Humidity is important with this species and shedding problems can occur if it is not maintained at a high level. A hide box filled with moist sphagnum moss or palm peat can help to alleviate such problems.
