Appliance presentation.
The INGRES Business Intelligence
Appliance is one of the many new and exciting products from INGRES
Corporation, combining the JasperSoft Business Intelligence
Suite with the INGRES 2006 database and Linux as a
software appliance with a single point of contact for
support.
This Appliance provides Business Intelligence solutions, from
reporting, analysis and dashboards to complete data integration with
existing systems. It comes with ETL, OLAP, report design, delivery and
security and can dramatically reduce implementation and maintenance
costs.
Sidney Glenn from Ingres Corporation demonstrated the INGRES
Business Intelligence Appliance and was keen to answer
questions.

Managing tables that use incrementing
keys can pose several unique challenges with any database product.
John Howell showed us some of the advantages and disadvantages of
different techniques of managing such tables through choice of table
structure, indexes, locking strategies and table partitioning.
