Up

Here we have just a few photos of members' vehicles. They make take a while to load but hopefully you will think it is worth the wait.

Click on the thumbnails for a better look.

P6120030.JPG (1144288 bytes) P6120058.JPG (1115220 bytes) This is Matthew Cupper's rather unique (for Australia) Military based G. It was MB's show vehicle during the Project Perentie tender.

Photos are taken on the Murray River near Matthew's home. Even the Jerry Can is marked on the original datacard. The only modifications Matt has made are a new roof and the shovel holder.

We believe that this vehicle was on Display at the Melbourne motor show in 1982/1983 but if anyone has a program or photos it would be nice to confirm it.

PA300127.JPG (1150542 bytes) PA300131.JPG (1094632 bytes) PA300133.JPG (1059470 bytes) Martin Sherrard's 'Kermit' is unlikely to go missing in the car-park. Martin puts his STT turbo charged  truck to good use and is making some interesting modifications along the way.
The G (1).JPG (151926 bytes) car show G.JPG (890384 bytes) This is John Dellinger's (JD) 300GD a fine late 80's 300GD on the tracks around the ACT where he is based for part of the year. John's G has recently undergone some radical renovation via John Green and a brand new Getrag gearbox.
P1010019.jpg (700386 bytes) P1010013.jpg (734286 bytes) P1010020.jpg (621405 bytes) Kerrys G1.jpg (57669 bytes) Kerrys G2.jpg (68725 bytes) Member Kerry Leslie is based in Tasmania and gets to use his truck in some great country. Lucky he has another G to travel with! Kerry's is an ex-MB Australia truck and is the one with the white stripe and roof. He has some great modifications made to make his 300GD even better than standard.
DuneMail.jpg (83571 bytes) BonnetMail.jpg (61029 bytes) SquareMaail.jpg (59793 bytes) Jim'sCreek.jpg (117537 bytes) James McEwan is a photographer based in Brisbane and certainly puts his 280 GE to good use as both transport and model.

James or more correctly his wife Lavinia is responsible for our banner shots and many more throughout our web pages and our newsletter, G'ocentric.

MVC-007F.JPG (47487 bytes)  Mal Thornton's G Collection is growing just about daily and they are spread between Perth WA and Toowoomba in Qld. At last count he has 8 (or is that 9) G-Wagen including a rare Australian delivered 5 speed 300GD with factory Recaros, hardtop and more. This is currently under restoration and is just about complete. Just wait for the photos!

Albert Apai's is real G enthusiast and is on his second red 300GD. Both have been fitted with a distinctive Chrome grille, just to add a bit of class.

Albert is based in Melbourne's outer East.

P9020149.JPG (1092343 bytes) P9020163.JPG (1139739 bytes) pic15724.jpg (336721 bytes) Steve New1.jpg (55196 bytes) Steve Sheers' 300GD is at home hitting the Yarra Valley Mud Holes as it is in the desert. The white vehicle is Steve's older 230GE which is now owned by John Green of Canberra.

Steve is based near Appollo Bay in Victoria

JKs Green G1.jpg (107295 bytes) JKs Pair.jpg (227278 bytes) John & Sharyn Kenny's manual 300GD is under reconstruction and knowing john it will be a long-term project
jeremy G1.jpg (29601 bytes) Jeremy G2.jpg (76542 bytes) Jeremy G3.jpg (26146 bytes) Jeremy Ludlow's 280 GE is a secondhand import from the UK and is now based in Perth. Jeremy shows the versatility of his G equally at home on the beach (near West Cape Howe) the forest trails, or in the main street. The 280GE has recently had a bit of a holiday in the eastern states of late and is now sporting a somewhat different power-plant courtesy of MB Spares. I am sure the details and more photos will follow in due course . Photos courtesy of Jeremy and the MBCCWA.
pic09741.jpg (577905 bytes) pic27529.jpg (130291 bytes) pic00778.jpg (73240 bytes) Nathan Epp is based in Tumut. Nathan purchased his G in October 2006 and while the car has new black paint and a new leather interior, there is still a lot of work to be done to get the car perfect - the way it must be. It's a 1983 300GD with aftermarket alloy wheels and 255/85/16 Cooper ST tires. Nathan and his  wife Candice go camping regularly and also frequent the snowfields where a 4WD wagon is almost a necessity.
Melissa & Jeff Gloger are a couple of  devotees of the 'G'. They have sent us a couple of photos of their 300GD on Rainbow Beach near the remains of the "Cherry Venture"
Alan Zen's 300GD is resident in Canberra and is a great example of an Australian delivered G. It is actually one of the original Press Release G-Wagens at Mt Terrible in 1982.
Peer Horn has a truly unique G for Australia. It is a 500GE Cabrio (although not quite factory!) Peer is based in WA.
Melbourne Member, Phil Rourke's collection of Geländewagens. A G, A Pinny, and a Mog. What more could anyone need. These are all painted in the distinctive Green & Yellow (or is that gold) of Phil's Waste Management business.

Rhys Mills is one very lucky member. He has got hold of one of the very few 463's in Australia. It is a 1992 300GE Auto in Nautical Blue Metallic over cream leather and with only 150,000 kms on the clock it is like new.
Another of our WA Members, Nathan Vujich's 280GE started out life as a 300GD but Nathan was looking for a little more performance.
GWagen1AN.jpg (549722 bytes)GWagen3.jpg (241092 bytes)GWagen2.jpg (227363 bytes) George & Anna Hanzalek have just started their venture into G ownership and already have two! George is testing his restoration skills on his two Melbourne based 300GDs.
Prem Satkunarajah's Melbourne-Based 300GD is a very unusual factory original colour (Sky Blue) and is very nice condition throughout. Prem is currently having a new rear wheel carrier made to fit the factory alloy wheels he acquired some time ago.
Derek McLachlan runs an Automotive workshop in NSW (Lingane Motors) and has updated his 300GD with a factory Turbo Diesel motor (617A). As well as going well Derek's G also looks great!
Joe Weigl and his son Rob have been G-Wagen enthusiasts for many years and Joe keeps his G running like a Swiss watch and Rob keeps trying to stop the hands!

Rob now has his own 280GE but is keeping it under wraps until the 30th Anniversary of the G - but wait - that's now! C'mon Rob where is it?

Rob and Joe are based near Geelong in Victoria.

Frank Munro has racked-up 20 years of ownership with his 300GD. Frank started his 4x4 hobby with a Land Rover back in 1960 when he did a trip around Australia. Finally he saw the light in 1989 and bought his current G. Frank is based in Sydney NSW and will certainly have some experience to pass on.
John Green of MB Spares in Canberra has bought Steve Sheers old 230GE (via Otto) for his son and through his business has been wielding the magic wand on a few tired and/or broken G-Wagens of late. The second photo shows John cleaning the blinker lens on a very special G - the triumphant Paris Dakar 280GE.
