Five Jewels

Joseph K Stephen

19 December 2004

God lent us five most precious jewels.

One loaned for just two days.

We cuddled her and felt a bond,

that time cannot erase.

Her short stay taught us life's a gift,

to treasure those whom God has left-

Our other jewels, her sister twin,

Caleb, Micah, Gideon

Four jewels entrusted to our care

Whom we hope will meet her there.

But we must teach with diligence,

the way of faith and repentance.

Esther Ruth has gone ahead,

To her mansion glorious.

We pray the four will trust the Lord,

and not live life oblivious.

Our mission then is very clear,

instill wisdom, reverence and holy fear

Through Esther's life though short and sad

so all five jewels return to God.
