From Leonie:
From Heidi in France: The package arrived this morning and I'm all a quiver in anticipation of seeing the family archives. I don't have a DVD player and my New Year's resolution was to spend my ever-dwindling resources on experiences not objects. So, rather than go out and buy a machine, I'm going to share it with DVD player owning friends. Can't wait. I've been back for ten days and I'm still in a daze of how great my life is. Paris is fabulous. I have a terrific screenplay to translate and I've been catching up with friends. Can't wait to get away again. I'm waiting to hear about a couple of residencies I've applied for and if nothing comes up, which is entirely probable, I'll start organizing a world tour of my own. Australia in late May, perhaps. Lots of love, Heidi
From Phil in Perth: Here's photos from matty birthday party today, we had a spiderman piñata this time. Phil
From Tina in Bellingen: thought i should show you pictures of the wounded...it doesn't look all that long in the photo's because most of the gash is along her eyelid and in the photo's her eye is open..it's about an inch and a half long!
From Emma in Berowra (we love you Berowra!!): Where's the cheese? What a creative individual! Would NEVER thought of this wonderfully innovative pizza making technique myself. Or even that a pizza hat was a possibility! Brilliant! And tasty. Emma
From Penny: Here is a photo for the corkboard of Henry and Alex, finally looking like twins. They both had their faces painted at the playgroup Christmas Party. Alex went first and asked for a lion. Henry was so taken with his lion face, he asked for the same again.
From Karen: We thought this photo might be fun for the MarnieMoo web site. Its of Annabelle in a blowup "bat car" at Anthony's sisters place for the Dunk christmas.
From John: Yes, it's snowing bucketfuls in Iwanai and Konan is now ready for it. Think how good a skier/snowboarder that boy is going to be by the time he's ten. And if he gets caught in a blizzard, he can always camp out overnight in those boots. He seems pleased with the present, although not enough to let go of the packet of his favourite snack - presumably dried squid chips. Flano
From Karen: Annabelle has started swimming lessons again this Summer, she absolutely loves it!
From Vicki:
From Mike in Japan:
From David in Melbourne (via his agent Karen): These are of the room that he has renovated for his new baby, Charley, who is due in December. Isn't he clever? Luv Karen
SO cool David!!! I want one for my room!
From Marg: How beautiful are these children?????? Love Margrett..... From left: Phoebe, Ben, Sophie, Rebecca, Alice and Sarah. Rebecca and Sarah belong to Vanessa and the other fine specimens belong to Emma.
From Heidi in Pari:
At a group art show in Paris...
Here is John's feature window at Dymocks in Queensland for his you-beaut-best-selling-we're-all-as-proud-as-punch-when's-the-next-one-coming-out Ranger's Apprentice series. Yay John!!!
Pics from Kate's trip to Cuba: "Typical Havana building, beautiful colonial architecture crumbling away. Still completely occupied, of course, despite the fact that it's completely derelict. Note also the cars, cuba is full of these boxy 70's russian ladas". "CUBA - VAMOS BIEN - (We're going great) The slogan Fidel has on billboards all over the country. It gives the people something to think about as they queue up with their ration books to get their monthly allowance of rice and beans etc."
