January 2007This month: Japanese Gardens > Pa's Big Move > A Festival of Charlie > Season's Greetings,
Thursday 18 - Japanese GardensMum and I took a couple of the 'old-timers' with us when we took Pa to the Japanese Gardens in Gosford for lunch yesterday. As the Entertainment Officer was away sick at Chamberlain Gardens and there wasn't much happening (actually there wasn't anything happening) Joyce and Alan were totally chooffed that we were able to make their day a bit more perky... Joyce is 90 in October... isn't she gorgeous?
Tuesday 16 - Pa's Big Move
It's been a stressful week for the Hopkins side of the clan as we have endeavoured to help Pa settle in to his new abode on the Central Coast. So many little things to take care of in order to make him as comfortable as possible. Added to this is the fact that the place where he has moved has only just opened and is going through it's own teething problems - so it hasn't been all smooth sailing and there's been moments of despair for everyone, no doubt for Pa more than all of us put together. Thankfully he's a very adaptive and good-humoured fellow for the most part, and if age shows the real heart of a person - especially under stress - then Pa is certainly an example for us all. He is such a kindly and gentle man and as I thought about this the other day I came to realise that it really is a reflection of who he is that he has so many people around him who are genuinely concerned that he gets the very best care possible. I know his girls love him to bits which shows what a great dad he has been to them. So now that I'm getting all mushy.... WE LOVE YOU PA!!! If only he could use a computer... Oh well, I'm sure we'll all let him know what a top bloke he is when we go visiting. Here are some pics from last week when Karen, Annabelle, Lili and I all took Pa out to the club in Gosford for a 'bite to eat'. He does love a bistro lunch! If anyone would like to send anything encouraging to Pa, feel free to email it to me and I'll print it out (big) and take it over to him.
There's lots of new pics on the corkboard, so check it out here
Thursday 4 - Festival of CharlieWelcome to A Festival of Charlie, born on Dec 30 at 11.06 pm, weighing in at 3.48kg. My Securor of Photography (SOP - aka Karen) has forwarded prized photographic evidence of Great-Grandchild No.10 and here it is: SOP: How many babies can do this at 3 days old? The following 2 photos of Charlie were taken five minutes apart...
There's some new pics from Tina and Phillipa on the corkboard too... click here
Tuesday 2 - Seasons Greetings, A Wedding and A BirthHAPPY CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR!!!!
There's been so much excitement around here that I haven't had time to update marniemoo.com in a while. To start with I just happened to have a chance-spotting of Santa flying over Fairlight on Christmas Eve as you can see. (I know... amazing).... The day before that Marg's son David married his childhood sweetheart Katrina at Dalwood beach (despite the odd spot of rain):
Then a smaller contingency of the family had Family Fiasco II at Ju Ju's place on Christmas Day...
Andy!!... here's pic of you on my website!!! If you'd like to check out the Dunk's new webpage with their latest pics, go to DunkWood Webpage. I've also added a new 'Links' section in the right hand side-bar where you will find the link again and Kitty's website link...
Another piece of Big News is that Pa has become a great-grandfather for the 10th time due to David having a baby on December 30th. Well, not David exactly... it was actually Nichole (as I'm sure you can imagine)... but here's a pic that I ripped off the DunkWood Webpage of little Charlie and proud dad... Aww.....!!!! Congratulations David and Nichole!
Well, I think that's just about enough excitement for one entry... Hope you's all are well recovered from the silly season. I guess it's head's down bums up from here (unless you are still on holidays - or maybe even retired in which case it's all the same really)... Bye for now and say hi to your mum for me.
