October 2006

Saturday 14

Sorry for taking so long to move into October, but here I am! The main excuse is that I've just been camera-less (#gasp**!!) for the past few weeks as I changed over from super-digital-SLR to your more point-and-shoot-but-doesn't-weigh-a-tonne variety. Not wanting to post without photographic evidence, there has thus been no postings for a while.

So here we are in October and things are chugging along nicely and next Saturday I'm off to Hong Kong for 2 weeks to do some work at Crossroads International. Here's their website if you're interested in finding out more: www.crossroads.org.hk   Not sure yet what they'll have me doing but will tell you all about it when I return. (Pa will be in the capable hands of Ju Ju and Vicki while I'm away - just incase you were worried...)

Pa's doing well but has to have another wee op to have another wee skin cancer removed in a couple of weeks (getting old ain't for sissies). Nothing major as it's on his arm and he only has to go in overnight. He's very brave about these things. His exciting news is that we've found a great men's group of a Wednesday that picks him up on a bus in the morning and drops him off in the afternoon. It's not your typical women's chat-n-craft gathering... they play games (much more manly) and have ol'-timers sing-a-longs and go on picnics and scenic bus-rides and things like that. They eat well (important) and the people are wonderfully friendly and kind. Pa loves it! It's a big day out, but he always has a very positive report to give when he comes home for a recovery nap.

Here's some shots from the new camera:
