SACFS members train regularly both via formalised courses and at Brigade and Group level. The
SACFS Promotions Site
has some useful information on training. All new members are required
to complete BFF1 (Basic Firefighting One) prior to responding to
incidents. Some of this training consists of Nationally Accredited
modules. Other formal courses are offered in a wide variety areas as
diverse as Road Crash Rescue, Breathing Apparatus, Incident Management,
Workplace Dignity and Leadership.
