I began rowing, for the first time in my life, for Walford Anglican School for Girls at the end of 1995, starting with a group of six keen fathers and a very leaky coxed four, the "CULVER". We spent the first few months sanding, fiber-glassing and varnishing this ancient boat before we even got near the water.............
