The Paschal Candle was lit as part of a simple "new fire, blessing of water" ritual. We blessed the Labyrinth, placing symbols of elements of fire earth, wind and water at the compass points. We placed the paschal candle in the centre of the Labyrinth, above it hung a golden sun

As we walked in silence the candles around the Labyrinth were lit. We walked from darkness into new light.

At the centre of the Labyrinth, after midnight, we enjoyed joyous music and completed our walk as an Easter dance of resurrection.
