Changing
the perception of Leigh Creek in the minds of visitors
and locals is one of the successes of the Leigh Creek
Regional Visitor Information Centre. Previously regarded
as a closed mining town, the Leigh Creek region now
attracts thousands of visitors each year. An initiative
of the Leigh Creek Area School, the Visitor Information
Centre involves student and community volunteers in
tourism, hospitality and customer relations and building
positive relationships with each other, other community
members and most importantly visitors to the area.
