NCT Week 5

The Lecture

This week's lecture was about... Virtual Reality - and the development of its technology, also the technologies that lead up to virtual reality over the past 200 years or so. These include the telegraph, telephone, phonograph, radio, cinema and television - then Virtual reality.

The lecture also tapped on the ideas of the rationality of Virtual reality, and the different theory's different people had with respect to the differences between, virtual reality, and reality.

Different types of virtual reality (or how we perceive virtual reality to be) were discussed, like the VR goggles, VR rooms, and the matrix style of VR, where everything is done via your mind, effectively leaving the body in a sleeping state, but the mind in a highly excited state. There is also a similar sort of concept prevailing on existenz.

Also mention was how VR works, different problems with VR, and the different aspects Virtual Reality.

The Tutorial
This weeks tutorial task was to look up using the library resource catalog for journals thing, different aspects of my chosen topic for my essay. Due to my lack of time to use the journal database system, and their being faster ways to do research on a topic, i've decided not to complete the task, as to me it seems like a total waste of time. The system just takes to long to use. Needless to say, I do know how to use it - I just don't want to.

The end
