Grampians Mountain Trips:
Trip One was made on 17-22 April, 2006, when we took a bus to the Grampians in Victoria. This trip went well and was very enjoyable. Ten people went on the trip (mostly young people) and we braved very wet, wild and windy conditions. We climbed three mountains - Mt. Angst, Mt William and Beronia Peak. All the other mountain walks were closed seeing as a recent bush fire had made all the tracks and trees dangerous (ie. unstable rocks and falling branches). Even the campsites were closed and we had to camp in a secluded carpark in the middle of the bush somewhere in the south of the ranges.
Trip Two was made on 16-18 June, 2006, when we climbed The Watchtower and looked at the McKenzie Falls. We also camped the night under the stars near McKenzie Falls because the recent bushfires had damaged most of the camping grounds and they were all still closed to the public.
