THE STEPS IN OBTAINING YOUR AMATEUR LICENCE.

  1. Study independently at home1 OR at attended classes2.Your Certificate of Proficiency!
    (Sit an Exam\s1  OR Continuous Training & Assessment2)

  2. Arrange for and sit an Exam. (if applicable) (see Contacts page)

  3. Await your results. (1 to 2 Weeks)

  4. Contact the A.C.M.A., pay your Licence fee, pick a call sign and receive your Certificate of Proficiency and Amateur Licence.

THAT'S IT ...  HAVE FUN & HAPPY EXPLORING!

 

Most gain their Foundation Licence by purchasing a Foundation Lic. Manual available from the WIA and attending a weekend course of training that includes a BASIC Multi Choice Theory Exam and a BASIC Practical Assessment at a local Amateur Club.   Those going for their Standard or Advanced Licence usually study independently using the Radio & Electronics School's Course's, (see below) and then sit an exam at a local Amateur Club.

THE RADIO AND ELECTRONICS SCHOOL OFFERS COURSES

 FOR THE STANDARD AND ADVANCED LICENSE CLASSES.

 

Courses on CD!STANDARD LICENSE MULTI-MEDIA COURSE

  • Standard Electronics Theory and Full Regulations*

  • Takes 4 to 6 weeks

  • Comes on 2 CD ROMS

  • The course cost includes postage to any address within Australia

  • Requires practical assessment as an additional element if applicable*

 

ADVANCED LICENSE - ON-LINE THEORY COURSE

  • On-line Course Covers Advanced Theory ONLY

  • A FACILITATOR will GUIDE and HELP you through the courseCourses via the Internet!

  • Assignments provided with explanations for those things you need help on.

  • 20 assignments in total with ONE assignment per week, each assignment takes around 3 hours

  • The course cost includes all course notes and supplementary downloads (around 40Mb)

  • Requires an internet connection and valid email address.

  • (Course notes and downloads can be supplied on CD Rom if you have a slow Internet connection - Additional Cost)

* THE PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT IS COMMON TO ALL LICENSE CLASSES AND ONLY HAS TO BE COMPLETED ONCE.

* THE FULL REGULATIONS IS COMMON TO BOTH THE STANDARD AND ADVANCED LICENSE CLASSES AND ONLY HAS TO BE COMPLETED ONCE.
