Are you un-patched?

If you're running without any of Irrational's patches for Freedom Force, you may experience problems with the Strangers, in that the opening mission has no cutscenes and no objectives. If this is the case, copy the file Strangers/Missions/Scripts/strangers.py to Data/Missions/Scripts/strangers.py after installing.
Do this after every update, since the contents of this file change each time to add new non-mission specific code.

If you're behind a firewall or a router, and the links to Franko's website don't work, you might need to enable 'passive mode' in Internet Explorer. It's under Tools / Internet Options / advanced [rightmost tab] / Browsing, near the end. Just tick the checkbox and try with it enabled. That, or get an FTP client.
