Mission 9: The End of the World

A big five way battle here. The hordes of hell and the Horror both return at the same time, along with a few friendly units.

The Hordes of Hell:
Reavers are equipped with a vicious claw atack and fire breath. They respawn from the hellpit as they get destroyed, and can't be permanently defeated.
Succubi act as backup units, casting area energise, healing and rally the troops on the reavers. Note that this means they can be hypnotised into healing your units - this may come in useful if you can pull it off!
Mr Jones has powers similar to DD - Hells Gate, hypnosis as well as enhanced physical strength.

The Horror:
The creature you fought in Mission 3 was just the amputated hand - this is the real thing! It switches between about 8 different forms, and when defeated it turns into a horror-skinned box for about 30 seconds before coming back to life again. And it magnetically heals itself just like the earlier Horror - any lamposts or cars in the area when it is damaged will be used to regrow.

Miss Amazing:
Yet another dorky retro-hero from Adam Zorn's world - Miss Amazing has a full set of low-level Superman abilities - flight, super-strength, heat vision etc. She's also dying of radiation poisoning from the beginning of this mission. Adam Zorn can cure her via a Custom command - if you do this you'll get her as a free recruit. She'll keep fighting the Horror until she falls in this mission.

About 90 seconds into the mission further help arrives:


Atlanteans:
Anemone's people will target the Horror intelligently, by destroying nearby cars and lampposts for you. They'll also attack it directly using melee attacks and a telepathic mental blank ability.

Antarticans:
King Zero's men will target the demons, being part of the anti-demon squad he trained back home. They use an ice-beam attack, but will also fire a healing ray at nearby heroes who are low on health.

Tactics:
The key to the whole mission is to make the Horror inert (in its box form) and carry it to the HellPit. This can be accomplished by throwing, but picking it up and walking in there is more reliable. As soon as the Horror is registered as being in the Hellpit for a second or so, the mission ends as the forces of Hell retreat to stop it from destroying their world.
For this reason its a very good idea to take a fast runner along - Ace or Jimmy Jupiter are both pretty handy here.
Teleport Adam Zorn to Miss Amazing as quickly as possible - she's a worthy addition to your team with some unique scripted abilities that will stand you in very good stead in future missions.

You have to take DD and Adam. Its worth thinking about not only the other rcruit's powers, but what DD can absorb from them.
King Zero is still best left at home due to the fire-breathing demons and destruction-cursed civilians once the succubi get going.
Both the Fly and Spider are useful due to their Analyse commands and electrical attacks. They Fly is a good choice as well because of DD's ability to absorb a power that he probably doesn't even have yet (unless you're cheating!)
Ace of Swords - not only is he a fast runner, but DD can absorb his speed for the rest of the mission, so well worth taking.
For combo move potential you could take Jimmy Jupiter - he's a fast runner and he unlocks Adam's Q+ Beam. (He also has a nasty tendency to fold just when you least expect it.)

Another consideration: if you kill all the demons and they keep respawning around the HellPit it can become very difficult, particularly if the character holding the horror keeps getting cursed. The Spider and KingZero can both be useful for immobilising demons far away from the pit.

Analyse commands:>br> Biff and Marla have had bits of the Horror lying around in their lab for a while now, right? Biff actually helped fight it before he became the Fly, remember?

The Fly can Polarise the Horror to neutralise its magnetic healing. Once polarised, it will not heal from any nearby lampposts or cars but in fact molecularly excite them!

The Spider can infect the Horror with a custom virus that causes it to repeatedly change into a form with the powers of ... a normal human woman! Once infected - 2 out of 3 shapechanging attempts will turn it into a female civilian form with a mild punch attack and nothing else.

Combo Moves:
If you take Ace and King Zero along, you can use the Lightning Rod for the first time here. Ace charges up King Zero, who will then explode with electrical energy at one second intervals for about 12 seconds. The side effect of this is the sudden darkening of the sky, which gradually clears. Use this one too often and you're in danger of not being able to see properly!

As Devil Doll explains, she gains the ability to clone her allies' powers in this mission. By touching a team mate using the Absorb command she gains the following one shot abilities:

King Zero - Ice Up to freeze an opponenet or cast ice armour on herself
Adam Zorn - Q Beam
Anemone - telepathic scan with area effect stun
The Fly - Fly's Eyes causing Genetic Damage (sees the weak points in enemy's defences)
The Spider - Shrink
Chaos - 17:Chlorine - turn into gaseous form like Penny does
AlCuBUS - This to That - a beam that inflicts a random primary state on the target
Jimmy Jupiter - Atomic Punch
Ace of Swords - Chain Lightning. Until she fires this off, it also increases her speed to levels comparable to Ace's!
Miss Amazing - Superstrong punch. Until she uses this, it also increases DD's strength, allowing her to lift cars etc!
Antarticans - Ice beam
Atlanteans - Telepathic San (same as anemone)
