Alexandria, the second largest city in
Egypt is known as "The Pearl of the Mediterranean". It was
founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BCE and became the capital of Graeco-Roman Egypt, its
status as a beacon of culture was symbolized by Pharos, the legendary lighthouse that was one of
the Seven Wonders of the World.
We have chosen Alexandria as the name
for our journal as it symbolizes the celebration of culture based on the values
of reason and critical thinking.
The Alexandria Review offers feature
articles, research, articles and reviews in a diverse range of fields including
(but not limited to) history, language, critical thinking, war and conflict
studies, edutainment, psychology and philosophy.
The Alexandria Review is an online,
digital and print journal. It is available free from this website. While not a
commercial venture (TAR does not take advertising and is not for profit), we do
reach a large audience via both our website and mailing list.
The address is simple and easy to
remember: http://www.alexandriareview.com
We have avoided a strongly graphical
presentation opting for a simple and easy to use menu system. While multimedia
sites are nice to look at they can take much needed time to download and can be
awkward to explore. Information should be simple to access and easy to use. You
won’t find many bells and whistles, but you will find resources and reviews and
lots of them.
Reviews can be accessed via the left
menu or via the search engine which is updated daily. Reviews are presented
with a small introduction which then offers a link to the larger review, this
allows you to scan quickly through the reviews and find what interests you.
