The render time was 47 minutes and no post-processing was used other than to insert the copyright notice and signature.
Artistic Information: Here is the scene from Green City at a more advanced stage of development. Different bulding textures were
created in Photoshop to introduce some colour variation from the flat green used in the original scene. The space fighter plane
and Khhyklonakh pilot were modelled separately and then merged into the scene. The fighter plane was my first go at low-polygon
work and consists of only 226 polygons without the guns and missiles. Heavy use of bump mapping for the vents and surface patches
create the illusion of more detail than there actually is. Most of the work in this model is in the textures; the plane model was
completed in under 3 hours, but nearly 36 hours were spent on texture design. After all this, I got lazy adding the guns and
missiles and these use 10 times as many polygons as the rest of the plane! I will eventually do low-polygon versions with the aim
of getting the whole thing under 400 polygons.
