Image Information: 1280 x 1024. Rendered in Cinema4D with Best anti-aliasing, full reflection/refraction, Area shadows, Caustics
and Stochastic Radiosity.
The render time was 2 hours 53 minutes. The copy at the top and the Quanrazia logo and slogan were added afterwards in Photoshop as extra
layers, with the Drop Shadow layer style on the text layer and Outer Glow, Inner Bevel and Gradient Overlay on the 'Q' layer in
Quanrazia.
Artistic Information: A follow-up to the Quanrazia Ad 1 image elsewhere on this site. For this image, I wanted to visualise an instrument
that might be used in a star drive. This was also an experiment with B-Splines and Sweep NURBS objects, as visible in the blue coils on the
base and the wires connecting the motors attached to the lens assembly. I also used Volumetric light in this image to create the flickering
beams emerging from the device, which on top of the Caustics and Radiosity added heavily to the render time. This model is also fully animated;
by simply moving the convergence point of the three auxiliary beams, the beam tubes and their mounting arms rotate and move accordingly.
