Image Information: 1280 x 1024. Rendered in Cinema4D with Geometric anti-aliasing, full reflection/refraction and Soft shadows.
The render time was 8 minutes, and the lens flare was applied in Photoshop using the Lens Flare filter.
Artistic Information: That huge battlecruiser seen in other images on this site, this time in its entirety. It's been scaled way down
from its original 6,000 km length though - I wasn't about to melt my CPU again trying to compute an octree of millions of cubic kilometres
in cubic millimetre voxels! (See Battlecruiser Flypast for an explanation.) The planet texture was created in
Photoshop using the Render Clouds filter, mapping the darker shades to blue and the lighter ones to dull green-grey to create the continents
and seas. Then the clouds were added using alpha masking, and the Alien Skin HSB Noise filter in Photoshop, and the result mapped onto
a Sphere primitive to create the planet. Another slightly larger sphere was added and textured with a fog shader to create the atmosphere.
